Walworth County, Wisconsin · Private Sale

After forty-five years in America, our family is going home.

A working homestead — barn, silo, farmhouse, orchard, and rolling pasture — seeking its next stewards.

The Story

Forty-five years of mornings.

My parents came to this country in 1981. They raised three children here, kept a flock, tended an orchard, and built a life on a piece of land they grew to love deeply.

They are returning to Norway this year — not for the fjords, not for the scenery, but for a future they planned long ago. The land they leave behind is too much of a story to simply close. We are looking for someone who will love it the way our family did.

This is the first time this property has been quietly offered. There is no listing yet. No sign at the road. This page exists because it felt right to show it to the right person before the world is invited.

The Heart of the Farm

A red barn, a silo,
and a circular drive.

At the center of the property is a classic Wisconsin farmstead — a red barn with a deep green roof, a tall silo that has stood for generations, and a white farmhouse tucked behind a ring of mature trees.

The circular gravel drive, the cluster of outbuildings, the orchard rows just beyond — every element is the result of decades of patient stewardship.

What's Here

A property built for a life,
not a portfolio.

Every structure has been used. Every acre has been walked. Below is what the next family will inherit.

The Red Barn & Silo

Original construction. Deep-green steel roof. The silo stands intact at the heart of the homestead — the kind of barn neighbors stop to photograph.

The Farmhouse

White-clapboard, tucked into a ring of mature shade trees. Sited for morning light. Steps to the barn, garden, and orchard.

Outbuildings & Workshop

A cluster of working buildings — equipment shed, smaller animal barn, dome-roof grain bin, and a yurt with electric. Every one of them still in use.

Orchard & Garden

Established fruit trees in tidy rows. Multiple tilled garden plots. Decades of soil-building. Ready to crop the season you take possession.

Pasture & Hay

Open rolling pasture for grazing or hay. Mature fence lines. Multiple paddock options. Has run sheep, chickens, and a steady cycle of hay.

Woodland & Privacy

Mature hardwood and edge habitat wrapping the property. No close neighbors visible from the house. Country quiet, every season.

Road Frontage

Direct paved-road access. Long gravel drive that curves through the trees before opening on the farmstead — a true sense of arrival.

The Location

Rural Walworth County, Wisconsin. Ninety minutes from O'Hare, an hour from Madison, twenty minutes from Lake Geneva. Country, but not isolated.

The Land

Pasture, orchard,
and a yurt under the trees.

The land works in seasons. Spring brings the orchard into bloom and turns the pasture electric green. Summer is heavy with garden. Fall fills the silo. Winter quiets everything.

It is the kind of property that asks something of you in return — and gives it back, year after year.
